I am passionate about engineering and making it accessible to everyone. Ever since I started my Mechanical Engineering degree in 2008, I have been interested in outreach and supporting the wider understanding of engineering. As a student I founded the Women in Engineering Student Society, the first of its kind in the UK. This group reaches out to a younger generation of potential engineers through their outreach work in schools and community organisations. I also took some time out of my PhD studies to work for the on their radio show and podcast, where I produced content for radio and online publication, explaining science and engineering to the general public.
I started working for the º£½ÇÉçÇø in 2016 in the student recruitment team for the Faculty of Engineering. During this time I specialised in Access and Widening Participation. This role supported students from a vast range of backgrounds to make the right degree and º£½ÇÉçÇø choices for their futures in Engineering.
The natural progression was then to support students once they started their degrees, which is when I joined MEE in 2023. I now support the fantastic teaching in the Diamond Labs, ensuring our students have an efficient process for practical learning and that we continually look to improve the teaching we deliver.
