How did you feel when you heard that you were successful in being awarded the scholarship?

I was so delighted because, for me, a scholarship was more than financial support. Winning a scholarship has helped me focus on my studies and also encouraged me to keep on improving myself and focus on being more hard-working in order to be a worthy recipient of my scholarship.

What made you choose to study at Sheffield and your course?

I chose the º£½ÇÉçÇø of Sheffield because it offered the MA Applied Linguistics with TESOL, which was a combination of my interests, language and language teaching. º£½ÇÉçÇø also has a high reputation for research quality and for welcoming international students from around the world.

What was your initial impression of Sheffield and the º£½ÇÉçÇø when you first arrived?

When I first arrived in Sheffield, I was impressed by the beautiful scenery and friendly people in the city. It was an eye-opening experience because I could meet different students from different places and learn more about the world. Despite living far away from my home country, Sheffield feels like a home as I can seek support from the º£½ÇÉçÇø.

What are the highlights of your experience in Sheffield so far?

Having the opportunity to meet the many professional academics and to study in such a high-quality educational institute is one of the best experiences for me. The º£½ÇÉçÇø inspires me in my aim of pursuing higher education.  Also, the cultural diversity in Sheffield has developed in me a new perspective and a better understanding of people from different cultures.
